PPOC-BC Image Competition
One of the cornerstones of the Professional Photographers of Canada is Annual Image Competition.
Active/Accredited members of PPOC are invited to submit images annually to a juried exhibition. A group of highly qualified judges, all of whom have obtained their Craftsman of Photographic Arts or Master of Photographic Arts designation, and have been trained as jurors, assemble to review submissions. The jurors have the monumental task of viewing hundreds of images, setting aside personal bias, and judging objectively to determine those images worthy of being accepted into the BC Regional Salon.
From the images that are Accepted into the Salon, there are those which stand above the rest are awarded scores of Merit, and the small number which are deemed to be truly exceptional images are awarded the prestigious score of Excellence.
Merit and Excellence Images become the Best of BC Exhibition and are displayed at venues throughout the province for one year.
PHOTOGraphie Gallery Exhibition: What’s on display?
The PHOTOGraphie Festival Gallery Exhibition offers an exciting and stimulating visual presentation. This photographic display features four different sections, all of which bring artistic imagery to the viewing public. Drop by Robson Square during the festival and enjoy – it’s free to view.

High School Competition
As part of our festival’s community commitment BC high school students are invited to enter images for chances to win festival tickets, a new camera and other prizes. The top 10 images will be displayed in our gallery exhibition. Check out the Youth Contest page for more information
Young Adult Competition
To recognize emerging photographers PHOTOGraphie encourages young adults (18-24 years old) to submit their best images. The top 10 will be featured in the gallery and the image-makers will have a chance to win a camera! Check out the Youth Contest page for more information.
Festival Keynote Speakers’ Display
With two amazing keynote photographers speaking during the festival we couldn’t miss an opportunity to showcase their beautiful imagery.
