It’s that time of year again! We are preparing for this year’s popular youth contest.
The contest is open to youth enrolled in grades 8 through 12 in BC, or the equivalent such as home school, for the duration of the 2015/2016 school year. The top 18 youth images are displayed in the Gallery Exhibition during the PHOTOGraphie Festival. 1st place prize – Nikon camera, valued at $1,300

FREE YOUTH PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
This free workshop is for BC students in grades 8-12. Led by world renowned and award winning photographer Nick Didlick (www.nickdidlick.com) this workshop will cover technical aspects, creativity, what makes a good photograph, and hands on instruction.
Nick Didlick’s photojournalism career includes staff positions at United Press Canada, Reuters, the Vancouver Sun, the National Post and Photo Chief for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Nick has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize twice and is currently an editorial and commercial photographer and digital photo consultant based in Vancouver.
Workshop schedule:
1:00 to 1:45 technical aspects of shutter/ISO/aperture
2:00 to 2:45 creativity of lighting/background/composition
3:00 to 3:30 what makes a good picture?
3:30 to 4:00 questions and hands on instruction
